Whatthefork?

MNP,as in Mobile Number Portibility.
Is been implemented in Malaysia early October 2008.

when I first saw Digi ads to switch to its network but still keeping the number (either you’re using MAXIS,CELCOM,U MOBILE,is HAPPY included?) is legal!  ;o

Then,CELCOM ads using harith iskandar as the duta “wearing a yellow baju hujan, hood on his head, and that the shirt in it saying 016 is now celcom *indicating digi*” and also “wearing a football jersey, red in colour, saying 012 is now celcom *indicating maxis/hotlink*. This is madness.

How on earth am I suppose to know whether my friends are using celcom/digi/maxis? Yelah kan,I don’t want my bill to be like exceeding rm150 just because I’m contacting my friends who is at first using maxis but then they switch to celcom/digi without me knowing it.Kan sadis tu? Dah jadi mangsa keadaan tu.Tskh.

Dear all people, please obey to your network operator. If you want to switch to others, please also change your number. This will ease all.

Thank you.

    Hi there.

I do agree that it will be difficult to tell the difference when calling your friends on other networks. MNP isn’t going to make that bit easier.

However, this is also the time for everyone to pick a service that provides a single rate for calls and SMS to all networks. That would make life easier (and cheaper).

If you’re not already on DiGi, I would recommend giving it a shot. It’s easy, free & fast to switch:

If the service doesn’t live up to your expectations, you can always choose to switch again.

Keep up the great work with your blog =)

When there are more and more people using Digi, I, who used to be a loyal customer of Maxis, is going to make the switch too so that I can make cheaper calls as in within the same network.

Got to agree, Maxis used to be very good, as in almost 90% of the numbers in my phone book are 012/017. But now, it is getting lower, as it is now standing at 80%. However, I think Maxis has gone over their head and has resulted Digi seem to be catching them up very quickly by offering probably the lowest call rate and handsome rewards to attract the newer mobile phone users, and at the same time, attracting customers to make the switch.

It is still too early to say who is the biggest winner with the launching of MNP, probably few more months later, the customers’ % will stabilize and then, I shall decide which network operator I should switch to or stay with.

Currently, Digi seems to be the smarter choice.

jason:orait~ we’ll wait for the next few months, which operator will be the biggest winner yeah.Digi may seems to be the smarter choice (their trademark) but this whole thing I think is quite unreasonable, still. oh,and, btw, thanks for dropping by here!

and for me, about 30% of my contact already leaving maxis the blood sucker. please take note that, maxis is the only postpaid with non-flat rates.. the off-net call rate for maxis postpaid is higher, while celcom and digi offer flat rates to any network with their postpaid..

i advice, celcom postpaid.. because it giving every month discount. for example, bil above rm60 get 10% discount, above rm80 get 20% discount, and bil abover rm150 get 30% discount.. imagine you already enjoy 15sen flat rates to any network, and your bill was rm150, and then celcom giving another 30% discount, and ur bill end up at rm105 only (rm45 savings wow)..

by the way, its up to you.. i already in celcom territory, together with majority of my frens..
